Get In Shape Eith The Jawbone UP

UP was designed to fit seamlessly in people’s lives. Real life. It’s a thoughtful combination of engineering and design, custom-made for how we live.
UP is both flexible and strong. Sometimes UP needs to slide smoothly under sleeves or bend to accommodate an active lifestyle. Other times it has to be strong enough to stand up to a snowball fight without a problem (or more likely, a few thousand showers). Day and night, UP is right there with you.

UP™ is a system that takes a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle. The wristband tracks your movement and sleep in the background. The app displays your data, lets you add things like meals and mood, and delivers insights that keep you moving forward.

Vastly improved mobile app: The original Up iPhone app released last year was fairly basic — it showed the number of steps you took and your sleep performance and offered you a way to track what you ate. But there wasn’t much of a social component, and the food tracking was mostly manual.
This time around, Jawbone’s Up app finally feels complete. You can track what you eat (using the device’s matching iPhone app) more easily with a massive database of foods and their nutritional information, and you can add friends to your “Team” to compare their performance. You can also track your mood through the app and log additional exercises like yoga and cardio workouts.
Best of all, the Up app now uses all the data it collects to generate useful insights about your behavior. If you don’t get enough sleep while travelling, or if you tend to eat unhealthy lunches at work, Up will nudge you to be better.
Sleep tracking and silent alarm works wonders: Not much has changed when it comes to the way the new Up handles sleep, but its ability to track the quality of your sleep and wake you up gently is still worth mentioning. The wristband can figure out how much light and deep sleep you’ve had, as well as how long it took you to fall asleep once getting to bed.
And since it knows how well you’re sleeping, Up’s silent alarm can pick the best time to wake you, so you get up feeling refreshed. It’s the perfect solution for anyone who hates waking up to a blaring alarm in the morning.

Just in time for the holiday season, when diets seem to go out the window in favor of endless tasty treats, a new smart fitness device hitting store shelves today aims to help you stay on track with your personal health and fitness goals.
The Jawbone UP, a simple-looking wristband capable of collecting data about your activity throughout the day as well as sleep patterns at night, is now on sale in the U.S. The device, which comes in eight colors, is available for $129 from Jawbone’s U.S. online store, as well as Apple, AT&T, and Best Buy stores nationwide.
The band, which has a 10-day battery life, is meant to be worn 24/7. It’s slim enough to slide under sleeves yet strong enough to “stand up to a snowball fight without a problem (or more likely, a few thousand showers),” according to the product’s website.
The band itself captures data about your every move, and includes a “stopwatch mode” that lets you highlight active periods. It can even remind you to move more during the day if it notices long periods of motionlessness, or gently vibrate to wake you up at the optimal point of your sleep cycle.
Paired with Jawbone apps on Apple mobile devices, such as iPhones and iPads, Jawbone UP collects and analyzes the data to help you make better sense of your habits and lifestyles, identifying, for example, the effects of exercise on your ability to sleep deeply.
Using the app, you can keep a record of what you eat and drink by taking a photo of your meal, scanning the product’s barcode, or searching an ingredient database with nutrition information. The app gives you a daily dashboard, letting you quickly check with your progress and see how your friends are doing.
The UP app is currently only available for iOS devices running version 5.1 or greater, including the iPhone 3GS or later, third-gen iPod touch or later, or iPad. Those with an iOS device can download the app for free in Apple’s U.S. and Canadian App Stores.
The UP 2.0 app will be available in other international App Stores by early 2013. In addition, an Android app is “coming soon,” Jawbone said.
The band is available in small, medium, and large in the following colors: onyx, mint green, light grey, blue, navy blue, red, orange, and hunter green.
