Located in the heart of Restaurant Row on Randolph Street, Design Engine Education resides in the historic Haymarket Square Lofts in West Loop of Downtown Chicago. Historic for the Haymarket Riots that instituted the eight hour work week. Restaurant Row sits within the meatpacking and warehouse district of Chicago. Not only do we have access to some of the best restaurants in Chicago such as Sushi Wabi, The Girl and the Goat, DeCero, Blackbird, and The Publican but also to the meat and produce markets.
So what are we to do?? G-R-I-L-L
We seasoned and grilled salmon, carne asada, and chicken. For produce, we grilled long asparagus, plump mushrooms, and ripe vine tomatoes. We also made pico de gallo with chopped onions, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and fresh-squeezed limes. With our grilled masterpieces, we piled all of these ingredients on top of fresh, warm corn tortillas.
The pictures below were taken last week during lunch of Design Engine. Chicago is starting to get cold… so the warm, sunny days are numbered. Our students taking our Pro/E Surfacing Week Long Intensive joined our feast with interns and employees.
